The fifth chapter of the UCI rules, the BMX rules manual, specifies the requirements for the competition facilities and expressly states: “Member organizations wishing to pass UCI’s approval of their events must submit to the international community. The Union’s display of its facilities meets the requirements set forth in this section."
3, construction standards:
The UCI clearly states:
A BMX Track (Overall)
1 The track must be a compact, closed ring design with a runway length measuring not less than 300 meters along the centre line.
And can not exceed 400 meters.
2 The width of the track at its starting point shall not be less than 10 meters, and the width of any track at any point shall not be less than 5 meters.
B departure slope
1 The departure slope should be able to accommodate a runway with a width of at least 10 meters and a height of more than 1.5 meters beyond the first straight section of the track.
2 The length of the starting slope (from the starting gate to the horizontal plane) must be at least 12 meters. From the starting line, at least 10 meters, the runway at the eight starting positions must be clearly marked.
3 At a distance of 10m from the departure gate, mark a clear horizontal line across the runway width.
C departure gate
1 The departure gate should be at least 8 meters wide and equipped with electronic control devices for all international competitions and a manual replacement device.
2 The height of the departure gate shall be at least 50cm. In its vertical position, it shall be at right angles to the slope at which the athlete supports the starting of the bicycle wheel and shall not exceed 90 degrees.
3 The starting position of runway 1-8 must be clearly marked at the departure gate.
