Heath introduces improved magnetic ink

Heath Custom Press Company introduced a modified version of its popular magnetic ink for magnetic character recognition. The product is specially formulated for inspection and table printing presses, maintaining consistent image density and signal strength during the printing process of the print, producing a strong black image with predictable and consistent water absorption. Heath's magnetic character identification strip inks using soybean oil as a linking material have been rigorously tested at Heath's factory and have demonstrated excellent performance under the operating conditions of the form printers and check printers used in North America. Heath's magnetic inks for magnetic character recognition are suitable for metal, laser, electrostatic and silver salt polyester plates, and letterpress printing, providing printing companies with competitive advantages.

Roger Giza, vice president of Sales at Custom Press, commented on the magnetic ink used in this magnetic character recognition strip: “The inks used in Heath's magnetic character recognition strips have a variety of different viscosity products and can be specially formulated for various applications. The order of magnetic inks for each Heath magnetic character identification strip is equipped with a special safety data specification sheet, plus batch number and certificate of analysis certificates, to ensure that the rheology is the same as the previous batch. Available in 1.5 and 7 pound cans, the magnetic inks of Heath magnetic strips can have a laser safety point of up to 200 °C and can be used with all common wetting fluids."
