Recently, Milliken Chemical Co., Ltd. of the United States has supplied Hyperform HI5-5, a dedicated nucleating agent for PP processing plants, to the market, but it was previously limited to supplying nucleating agents to PP resin manufacturers.
Hyperform HI5-5 is a masterbatch for PP nucleating agent grade Hyperform HPN-68L. Therefore, the processing plant can conduct various tests independently, and it is not necessary to adjust the amount and formulation of nucleating agent through PP resin plant production.
Hyperform HI5-5 is suitable for forming opaque PP products such as yard tools, storage containers, recycled plastic packaging, automotive parts, beverage caps, etc. It can effectively increase the speed of PP nucleation, which is 15% to 25% faster than PP without nucleating agent. Hyperform HPN-68 has been approved by the European Food Safety Administration (EFSA) for use in contact with food and is approved for use in food packaging. The maximum amount used in PP and HDPE products is 0.25%. It is also suitable for LLDPE products that are applied at 100°C.
