HP's new ink droplets lasting fade resistance

HP's new dual ink drop printing technology delivers black-and-white text that rivals laser print quality and vivid photo printing. It uses a special dye-based color ink that can eject ink on paper in two different ink drops. The minimum drop volume is 1.3 picoliters (pl) and the maximum drop volume is 5 picoliters (3.8 billion drops volume is 1.3 picoliters of ink equivalent to a teaspoonful). With the dual ink drop technology, the printer can spray any combination of size ink droplets in a predetermined print position. The printer will determine the size of the droplets to achieve the best print quality and print speed.

Dual ink drop cartridge technology has been used in HP Deskjet and HP Officejet products and is designed specifically for users of both products. Deskjet users can now print documents, letters and web pages using low-cost, high-quality home-specific ink cartridges. Officejet users can use high-capacity ink cartridges to reduce printing costs per page and reduce manual operations. The ink cartridges described above are ideal for printing business documents, reports, letters, web pages and graphics. Both print systems offer outstanding print speeds, with the Officejet system printing at a slightly higher speed, making it ideal for small, efficient office users.

HP Officejet series printers (such as the J4588) will use the Officejet version of the dual drop cartridge. Customers will find that Officejet's 901XL black and 901 XL color cartridges will have higher capacity than their HP 901XL black cartridges, which better meets the high-volume printing needs of small business customers. The cost of using these HP Officejet ink cartridges is also very low compared to competitor laser printers, and printers using such cartridges can reduce the cost of color text printing per page by 15%.

In the new HP 818 and HP 901 Series cartridges, HP uses pigment ink technology for use in portable photo printers. And the new printing system has been optimized to enable printing on a variety of plain paper and multi-photo media. With this series of inks, customers can print black-and-white text and file-level output that is comparable to laser print quality on plain paper. Important letters, records, and business documents will not fade for decades. 2 Customers who use paper with the ColorLok logo will receive a higher-quality document - such as bolder darkened black, to produce higher contrast and sharper text. With paper with the ColorLok logo, colors are consistent and graphics are vivid. In addition, the document is drying faster, so that customers can process the printed page immediately and have fewer ink stains on the page. HP ColorLok media includes HP Everyday Paper.

With new inks optimized for multi-well photo papers, customers can print quick-drying photos with the recommended advanced HP photo paper, and the photos are more resistant to water and stains. What's more, the image quality is excellent and has HP's unique long-lasting fade resistance.
