How to Package Cupcakes – The Packaging Doctor

By Carl Board • Tuesday 28th June 2016

We definitely have a sweet tooth here in the surgery—cakes, sweets, biscuits, anything sweet. And if you hadn’t noticed, we’re now entering wedding season, which brings with it some amazing cake creations.

A cake is often an important part of many big occasions, so it's vital that they are completely protected during transit. First impressions are always important, especially for something that holds so much significance. Whether it's a birthday, a wedding, or just a special treat, your cupcakes need to arrive in perfect condition.

Today in the surgery, we met a customer who was looking for a solution to deliver her cupcakes by courier. She’s been struggling with packaging and delivery issues, and she’s ready for a better way.

Dear Doctor,

I hope you can help me.

I sell cupcakes for all occasions, and it's always a really important decision for customers. That's why I need to make sure they arrive in perfect condition. The courier I use doesn't always take complete care during transit, and I seem to be spending too much on packaging without any improvement. The main issue is the outer packaging—it’s where the damage usually starts.

I hope you can help because this is critical for my business.

Thank you,

Barbara

Hi Barbara,

In true Packaging Doctor style, we can most certainly help you with your query. We understand how important it is to protect your cupcakes during transit—nobody wants to open a package and find ruined cakes.

Let me present to you our double-wall cardboard boxes (9x6x6), designed to offer superior strength and reliability. These boxes will protect your inner packaging and provide extra protection when shipping delicate items like cupcakes.

For a cost-effective seal on your boxes during transit, I recommend our Kite-branded tape. It offers a quality product at a competitive price, ensuring your packages stay secure.

Finally, don’t forget to add our fragile handling labels. This will clearly signal to the delivery handler that your cupcakes need to be treated with care, reducing the risk of damage during transit.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out.

Best wishes,

The Packaging Doctor
