What is the green packaging project

"Green packaging" refers to a package that can be recycled and used without causing any pollution to the environment. Its connotation is the recycling of resources and the protection of the ecological environment. 　　 Green packaging originated in the United Nations Environment and Development Commission’s "Our Common Future" in 1987, and in June 1992 the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development adopted the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and Agenda 21, worldwide. A green wave centered on protecting the ecological environment has been set off. "Green Package" is known as "Enviromental Friendly Package" or "Ecological Package".

In other words, the entire process of packaging products from raw material selection, product manufacturing, use, recycling and waste should meet the requirements of ecological and environmental protection. It includes the contents of eco-environmental protection requirements such as saving resources, energy, reducing quantity, avoiding waste generation, easy recycling, recycling, incineration or degradation. This is the principle of "3R" and "1D" (reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Degradable degradable) that are required to be packaged in industrial countries in the world.

　　 The contents of green packaging With the advancement of technology, the development of packaging can also have new connotations. At present, the CPC Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the issue of environmental protection. Premier Li Peng personally participated in the 1992 UN Summit on the Environment and Development on behalf of the Chinese government and made an important speech. Subsequently, the State Council promulgated the "Top Ten Strategies for China's Environment and Development" and "China's Agenda 21", emphasizing the implementation of sustainable development strategies in China. The "China Environmental Protection (White Paper)" was issued successively and the "Decision of the State Council on Certain Issues Concerning Environmental Protection" was made. The State Council also agreed in principle with the National Environmental Protection Agency’s implementation of the “Total Control Plan for Pollutants Emissions” and the “Trans-Century Green Project Plan” during the “Ninth Five-Year Plan” period through 2010. These documents indicate the direction for sustainable development of our packaging industry. It is an important basis for us to develop the packaging industry and protect the ecological environment.
