Showa Denko will use waste plastics to produce ammonia

According to overseas media reports, Japan Showa Denko will use residential and commercial waste plastics to produce ammonia. To this end, the company will build and operate a factory. The plan will cost 60 million U.S. dollars, of which Kawasaki, Japan will invest 30 million U.S. dollars.

According to reports, the plant will use the high temperature of more than 1300 degrees Celsius to vaporize the waste plastic to produce ammonia.

Showa Denko said that the plant is expected to be put into production in April 2003, producing 65,000 tons of ammonia per year.

Showa Denko now has 200,000 tons of ammonia capacity in Japan.
