Sinopec Develops Polyethylene Anticorrosive Special Materials and Wins National Science and Technology Award

At the National Science and Technology Awards Conference recently held, the "Pellet anticorrosive special materials for steel pipes" project that was widely used in China's "West-East Gas Transmission" project and the Middle East and other countries and regions won the second-class National Science and Technology Progress Award. The polyethylene pipe anticorrosion special material for steel pipes is a new type of pipeline anticorrosion material that is internationally known as the “green” environment protection type. Compared with traditional pipeline anti-corrosion materials (epoxy coal asphalt, petroleum asphalt, etc.), it has the characteristics of heat resistance, aging resistance, high strength, cleanness, and ease of use. Initially, domestic use of such special materials was imported. In order to meet the needs of China's rapidly developing oil and gas field exploration and development and oil and gas pipeline construction, Qilu Resin Research Institute undertook the research of the project during the Ninth Five-Year Plan period. After several years of hard work, all the technical problems such as the special material resin, composite stabilization system, colorant dispersion, and quality stability have been solved, and the “polyethylene anticorrosive special material for steel pipes” has been successfully developed, filling the domestic gap. . Based on this research, the institute also obtained an invention patent and a utility model patent.
According to experts, the main features of this research result are as follows: First, through the optimization study of the comonomer content, catalyst system, etc. in the polymerization process, the first process for the production of anti-corrosion materials using ethylene and alpha olefins was developed in China. Special resin; second is the development of amine-containing composite stabilization system, so that anticorrosive materials technical indicators meet and exceed the anti-aging standards of similar foreign products; third is in the research of antiseptic quality stability, they are based on domestic special resin production technology The status quo, on the basis of absorbing the advanced technology of foreign large-scale production equipment, designed and developed the first set of industrialized production demonstration equipment with an annual output of 15,000 tons of automatic control in China, which fundamentally solved the problem of the stability of anti-corrosion material product quality. .
The development of this product has been tested by French, Italian and national authoritative testing centers. It has obtained high appraisal and quality accreditation, and is widely used in key national construction projects and export to the Middle East. At present, the resin product has formed a series of high, medium density, high, low temperature, high, low speed, etc., has been researched and developed in China and built two sets of production equipment with an annual output of more than 15,000 tons, and achieved a set of engineering and technological achievements. .
