Dipping and bonding

1. Dipping Bonding Method The dipping method is one of the earliest and most commonly used techniques in chemical bonding processes, also referred to as full immersion or saturation dipping. It evolved from traditional dyeing methods and is widely applied in the production of nonwoven materials. Basic Process Flow: In this method, a fibrous web is fed into a tank containing an adhesive solution. After being fully immersed, the excess adhesive is removed using a pair of rollers or liquid suction devices. The treated web is then dried and cured to form a nonwoven fabric. Depending on how the liquid is handled, the process can be categorized into three types: padding type, suction type, and a combination of both. Additionally, it can be classified based on the screen design—either single-screen curtain or double-screen curtain. Features: This technique results in a firm and dense structure, making it ideal for interlining applications. (2) Single-Net Curtain Impregnation Single-net curtain impregnation helps reduce adhesive loss during the process. This method is particularly effective for producing thin adhesive nonwoven fabrics. Rotary Screen Roller Impregnation Machine This machine uses a roller system to apply the adhesive evenly. It is especially suitable for producing high-quality nonwovens used in interlining and disposable sanitary products. Rotary Screen Roller Vacuum Suction Impregnation Machine This advanced version combines vacuum suction with rolling pressure, ensuring more efficient and uniform adhesive application. It is considered the best choice for producing delicate and thin nonwoven fabrics. (3) Double-Net Transfer Impregnation In this method, the fiber web moves horizontally while being clamped from above and below. This prevents deformation and makes it ideal for processing wide-width fiber webs. It ensures consistent quality and stability during the bonding process. Overall, the dipping method offers flexibility and efficiency, making it a popular choice in the nonwoven industry. Its various sub-types allow manufacturers to tailor the process according to specific material requirements and end-use applications.
