In September, when the last MakerBot CEO Berry Petty joined the Bold Machines-Stratasys innovation workshop. The first project they started was a film feature called "Margo." They assisted the talented artist Jose Alves da Silva to design characters for the film, and they also helped those who were at home and wanted to print these characters to provide a 3D printed model.
Bold Machine suddenly turned to make a movie that was a 360-degree turn, and made these characters in 3D printing as a product before the movie. In the past, Bold Machines didn't have any special work. They looked like a working group with a subversive tradition, but now more about survival. So far, six different character models in the "Margo" movie have been posted online allowing anyone to download and free 3D printing.
Today, Bold Machines announced the release of the next character, a favorite character - the Brooklyn Bridge Robot.
Steiner, and other BM team members used the MakerBot Replicator2 Desktop 3D printer to print out all the small models that make up the various details of the robot. A total of 30 discrete parts need to be printed before all the parts can be assembled. For assembly, the team used Zap-a-Gap CA glue to bond the parts together and color them with Tamiya Flat Acrylic pigment. As you can see in the photo, the Brooklyn Bridge robot looks ready. The only question remains, "Who are you?"
Whether in the past few years or in the future, 3D printing has been used to create more and more elaborate models for people.
