There are many types of waste plastics, and there are many different patterns. They come from different industries. Plastics can be classified into thermoplastics and thermosets according to their structural properties. At present, China's import of waste plastics is thermoplastic, because it is soluble and plastic. Thermosetting plastics are banned from imports. Here are two practical ways to quickly identify waste plastics.

The first is the visual measurement method. Visualize PE, PP, PVC, etc. by the color brightness and shape of the plastic. Such as PE is soft to the touch, white is transparent, but the transparency is general; PP is white and transparent. Compared with PE, it has higher transparency and sounds when rubbing. PVC has soft surface, sticky and elastic touch, white and transparent, and high transparency. ABS is a surface. Brightness, good toughness, high hardness. If visually invisible, it can be further identified by the combustion method.

The second is the combustion method. Burning with a flame, looking at the color of the flame, burning the process and smelling the burning odor is a very effective and easy way. When burning, if it can burn but not easy to point, it is polypropylene (PP), if easy to point, we must observe through the characteristics and phenomena of burning. If burned and softened, it is able to pull out the wire is polyvinyl chloride (PVC); if it is a small amount of black smoke, the flame has a bright light, and softening and bubbling is polystyrene (PS); when it is burned, it will not bubbling, and it will be dense after combustion. The hole, the flame has no light, slowly softens during the combustion process, ash is big ABS; there is no polypropylene (PP) burning smoke, polystyrene (PS) burning black smoke and so on. Smell further odor judgment, there is a strong pungent pungent taste is PVC, aromatic flavor is PS, light sweet taste is ABS, like the smell of candles is PE, petroleum flavor is PP.
